The Story of Félicette
FOR THE STRAYS
Imagine a hard life, imagine a cemented legacy, imagine the most loving and adorable thing you've ever seen, that's Félicette. She is a black and white Parisian stray cat, who was born & raised in France. Making history on October 18th 1963, as the first & only cat ever to travel into space!
There were 14 other cats trained specifically for this mission. Félicette (Code named "C 341") surpassed all of the competition with her calm nature & intelligent behaviour.
Félicette spent 15 minutes in space, reaching over 157km high, before returning to Earth as a fable! Though like many stories, what came after was much worse than the "achievement". Nonetheless a feat she will never be forgotten for!
however...
Heartbreakingly, two months after her triumphant return, researchers euthanized Félicette to examine her brain tissue for the effects of spaceflight... Yes breathe, we know. We are deeply upset too. She deserved a long prosperous life, but despite this tragedy she lives on in millions of peoples memories.
Her story and our personal experiences is why we at Félicette want to contribute back to cats. By donating to proven trusted operations, but also local shelters and businesses. The overlooked ones struggling to maintain, while keeping good people with boots on the ground. Rescuing, saving, loving and raising these precious companions.
Félicette, for the strays.
We will use her name to bring positivity to you & your cats, plus fantastic clothing pieces of course!
We thank you deeply for supporting our mission to help cats with your donations. Which is why every 30-60 days we release proof of our donations. We maintain a high quality standard for ourselves, so if you ever have any questions, compliments or complaints please do email us:
